Luckee is a hardback full-color book with 26 pages illustrated by Shirley Jackson Whitaker, MD MPH, and the books author. Although this is her second children's book, she is no stranger to the art world. Dr. Whitaker has a book of etching presently in the rare book collecton of the Library of Congress. Because of her desire to create something to celebrate the beauty of Black boys, she created Luckee. Dr. Whitaker is a Nephrologist living in Amherst, Massachusetts with her family.
